How Nimaya's treatments are helping our clients
Since we re-opened back in March this year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of new clients at Nimaya Mindstation who are suffering with symptoms consistent with low immune health and fatigue, and who are turning to more natural and alternative therapies to treat them.
In a recent article authors and researchers into alternative medicine Lynne McTaggart and Bryan Hubbard, highlighted the research of Dr Jeffrey Bland, the founder of functional medicine movement and researcher into post-viral syndromes.
He identified 4 strategies which are key to recovery of a low immune system and says the solution is not in conventional medicine which just manages the symptoms, but rather it lies in looking at what’s causing the symptoms in the first place and treating the body as a whole.
This is a one of the key practices which Nimaya focuses on, and many of our technology-led therapies and holistic therapies are ideal for targeting and treating the main symptoms experienced with and offer a natural healing and recovery experience.
The First Strategy - Gastrointestinal Restoration
Correcting and restoring the gut immune system is an essential first step in treatment, as it is strongly linked to immune disorders and chronic inflammatory conditions.
Phases 1 and 2 of this strategy relate to removing inflammatory and allergen-producing foods from your diet, followed by replacing them with healthy clean foods and digestive aid supplements.
Phases 3 and 4 are where Nimaya therapies come in to play and where they can be of great help in restoring a healthy gut microbiome and then helping to repair the intestinal lining.
Japanese Integrated Medicine
This is an holistic and complementary approach to managing health and involves both physical and internal medicine. Whilst the physical bodywork helps with ailments such as back pain, arthritis and sprains, it's the internal medicine element of the therapy which provides treatment for the digestive and immune systems, and is such an important part of the long covid recovery strategy.
The internal therapy elements include Gohan, a form of Oriental nutrition which recognises the benefits of certain foods and Kampo, a range of herbal blends which improve the person’s health and recovery.
During a treatment session you'll receive advice on what foods and herbs are best suited to your particular symptoms to bring about the best health results.

Advanced Red Light Therapy
Using the healing energy of red and near-infrared light at specific wavelengths, the advanced red light therapy bed at Nimaya treats the whole body and accelerates the natural healing of the body, reducing swelling and inflammation and stimulating the immune system. Studies have also shown that red and near-infra-red light delivered to the abdomen area can alter the gut microbiome in a potentially beneficial way.
Nutritional Supplements
The repair phase also involves taking additional nutritional supplements to promote repair of the intestinal lining. Their recommended supplements and dosage include:
L-glutamine: 6–10 g/day
Glycine: 6–10 g/day
Pantothenic acid: 500–1,000 mg/day
Zinc citrate: 10 mg/day
Omega 3 EPA/fish oil: 1–3 g/day
Vitamin E: 400 mg/day
The Start of Recovery
It can take up to 3 months to correct and restore the digestive system and there's no quick-fix to this stage, but by integrating the Nimaya therapies into the process, it will enhance and complement the recovery results.
If you'd like to try either of these Nimaya therapies for yourself, you can book online at nimaya.co or give us a call on 0208 103 0212 if you want to discuss your symptoms and how Nimaya therapies can help you! We're always here to help!
